About the Wildlife

The Marlborough Sounds one of the most incredible areas in New Zealand, the nutrient-rich waters attract a wide variety of dolphins, fur seals and seabirds. You will not find a tour anywhere else in the country that offers a chance to see so many terrestrial birds and seabirds along with a variety of marine mammals against such a spectacular backdrop.

Marlborough Sounds are unique in the world in that it is one of the few places you and view 5 different species of Dolphins (Bottlenose, Common, Hectors, Dusky & Orca).  As well on our tours we often feature NZ Fur seals and little Blue Penguins, King Shags, SI Sadlebacks and Rowi Kiwi as well as other marine birds and land birds on Motuara Island Bird Sanctuary.  Wilderness, Water, Wildlife ....we have it all!

We take a great amount of time to train our crews in order to be certain they are providing the most interesting and accurate information about the wildlife, history, maori culture and the region.
